1035 Broad Street was constructed c. 1895 and is a handsome three story Renaissance Revival style commercial building with stucco hood molds above the windows and a prominent cornice line and decorative brackets. As it appears on the 1904 Sanborn Map, the building\’s two addresses were 1039 and 1033 Broad Street. In 1898, the Augusta Chronicle featured an ad for the building stating the 55 foot frontage on broad Street running back to Jones Street was an \”ideal place for a rising physician.\” In 1900, 7 rooms were available for rent for $30 each. Various businesses have occupied the Broad Street frontage including doctors\’ offices and retail stores.
