Erected in 1931 to the memory of Dr. P.F. Eve (1806-1877), a volunteer field surgeon in the Polish War of 1830-31, a founder of the Medical College of Georgia, professor at four distinguished medical schools, President of the American Medical Association, editor of two medical journals, volunteer in the Mexican War and surgeon in the Confederate Army. Dedicated by the Medical Department of the University of Georgia and the Polish Medical and Dental Association of America.
