1125 Greene Street. Built in about 1925 by David and Dora Shapiro Rubenstein. This Spanish Colonial Revival style house reflects the interest in America’s Hispanic heritage hastened by the development of South Florida and an interest in Latin America. The Rubenstein’s not only lived here, but also operated their hat business out of the house by 1933. Note the tile pent roof over the two flanking wings, the hipped roof, the stucco exterior walls and the Moorish engaged columns as part of the arched front window design.
