Built before 1880 as the home of Capt. William Henry Warren and his wife, Mary Moore Warren. This excellent example of a Sand Hills Cottage is another rare wooden building in what is now considered the historic central business district of Augusta. Note the raised basement, the dormer windows and the four interior side chimneys. The front porch is Greek Revival in design, unusual for a Sand Hills cottage, with Doric columns and a full entablature including dentil molding. In 1903 the Mary Warren Home was established in Augusta in honor of Mrs. Warren to care for indigent women and children.
